Kirk Cameron was joined by country singer Coffey Anderson as he read his recently published As You Grow children’s faith-based book to a packed Georgia library crowd and sang the national anthem.

Together, Cameron and Anderson led 500 children and parents in attendance in “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Live Oak Public Libraries in Savannah, Georgia, on Thursday.

‘DO THE NEXT RIGHT THING’: KIRK CAMERON COMMITS TO ‘FIGHT FOR THE MINDS OF OUR CHILDREN’

Cameron told the Washington Examiner that he began a nationwide tour to help parents push back against “the storm of wokeism that appears to be sweeping the nation.”

Anderson said he wanted to join Cameron after hearing about his book, which describes America as a “Freedom Island.”

“I knew playing my song “Mr. Red White and Blue” was a perfect fit,” Anderson said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “Not only did I play for the families, I shared my story on why I love America and how to protect our freedoms no matter what age. The crowd was excited, eager, attentive, and fun.”

Cameron’s visit to Georgia follows “overwhelming” responses at other libraries in Indianapolis; Scarsdale, New York; and Southern California. Around 50 libraries originally rejected his storytime requests despite their previously promoted drag queen story hour events.

Cameron said he desires to use this library storytime tour to “take back the hearts and minds of our children.”

“Concerned moms and dads and grandparents have felt like they’ve had duct tape over their mouth and are afraid to talk about their values, [but] when somebody else breaks the ice, so to speak, it awakens that mom heart and that dad heart,” Cameron noted.
