A new poll has Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) leading former President Donald Trump 45% to 41% in a one-on-one race for the presidency in 2024, according to a poll from Yahoo News-YouGov conducted at the beginning of February.

When former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) enters the race though, things change.

In a three-way race between DeSantis, Trump, and Haley, Trump leads with 38% of the vote. DeSantis follows with 35%, and Haley is in a distant third at 11%.

Trump is the only declared candidate in the 2024 race. He has taken aim at DeSantis, who is expected to announce a run for president in 2024 as well.

DeSantis, who was reelected in November by nearly 20 percentage points, is widely seen as a contender for the 2024 Republican nomination. But he has not declared whether he will run for the White House.

In various polls, DeSantis and Trump are clearly seen as the two top candidates for the GOP nomination.
