State of the Union 2023: MTG calls Biden ‘liar’ during Social Security and Medicare remarks

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene yelled out “liar” at President Joe Biden as he claimed some Republicans were looking to cut Social Security and Medicare.

Biden said he did not believe it was a majority of Republicans, but he did say some were looking to make cuts in Social Security.

“Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset every five years,” Biden said, which prompted uproar from some of the GOP members.

Biden tried to regain control of the chamber, saying he “enjoys conversation.”

Greene could be seen repeating “liar” as Biden continued to talk. She later repeated her calls via a tweet, saying that “he’s a liar” and “Joe Biden is lying to the American People.”

She previously heckled Biden during his 2022 State of the Union address alongside Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).
