The document from the Memphis Police Department said Haley used his personal cellphone to share the image with two other officers, a civilian department employee, and a “female acquaintance,” per the outlet. The report also stated that a sixth person received the image of Nichols.

The police department’s policy prohibits officers from using their personal cellphones while conducting official duties on patrol.

Haley is one of five fired officers who are facing charges, including second-degree murder, for their role in a traffic stop involving Nichols. Video released by the police department showed the officers beating Nichols. Injuries sustained during the incident led to his death three days later.
