First son Hunter Biden is requesting an inquiry into the conduct of several Trump allies relating to the investigation into his laptop.

Lawyers for Biden told the Department of Justice that close allies of former President Donald Trump accessed and disseminated personal information found on his laptop that he left at a computer repair shop, the Associated Press reported.

Biden’s request, however, is just that — the DOJ has no obligation to follow through on his request. However, the public move is a marked departure from Biden’s usually defensive stance regarding Republican attacks.

“This failed dirty political trick directly resulted in the exposure, exploitation, and manipulation of Mr. Biden’s private and personal information,” the letter to the DOJ read.

“Politicians and the news media have used this unlawfully accessed, copied, distributed, and manipulated data to distort the truth and cause harm to Mr. Biden,” the letter continued.

The letter asks for investigations into Trump campaign strategist Steve Bannon, personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Giuliani attorney Robert Costello, and John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the Wilmington computer repair shop where Biden dropped his laptop off in 2019.

Biden’s lawyers asked for an investigation on grounds of violating laws prohibiting the unauthorized access of a computer or stored electronic communication, the transportation of stolen data across state lines, and the publication of personal data with the intention of using it for blackmail.

Costello dismissed the allegations as “preposterous.”

Separate letters were sent to the IRS and the Delaware State Attorney General’s Office.

Separately, Biden’s attorneys demanded a retraction and apology from Fox News host Tucker Carlson. They say he disseminated false and defamatory information about Biden.
