Philadelphia Eagles fans’ wild celebrations left several injured and police suiting up in riot gear following the Eagles’ NFC championship 31-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Several fans were reportedly injured after climbing atop a SEPTA bus stop that gave way, causing them to fall through to the street.

Other celebrating Eagles fans dared to continue a Philly tradition of climbing poles despite the police department’s efforts to “institute the practice of ‘greasing poles’ as a deterrent for climbing poles and light fixtures.”

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney urged Eagles fans in a statement to celebrate “joyously, safely, and respectfully and show the same love we have for our team to our city.”

Philadelphia police in riot gear were called to disperse fans who had assembled in the streets when celebrations got out of hand.

The celebratory scenes were reminiscent of those following the Eagles’ 2018 win over the New England Patriots when a Ritz Carlton awning collapsed.

The Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Feb. 12.
