CNN’s Don Lemon suffered his worst ratings week since the launch of his new morning show last year.
The CNN This Morning host has struggled to attract viewers since the show’s launch in November when Lemon left his prime-time slot in a move that he insisted on-air was a “promotion.”

During the week of Jan. 16, Nielsen data show Lemon drew an average of 408,000 total viewers, with a mere average of 87,000 viewers in the key 25-54 age demographic.
The ratings struggle did not help CNN. It placed 15th overall in total day viewership — the network’s smallest delivery since 2014, according to TVNewser.
Recently, late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert poked fun at Lemon for his choice of wardrobe.

“I believe a great man once said, ‘What the f*** is that?’” Colbert said, while displaying an image of Lemon in a hoodie and blazer. “I know they want to add some comedy to CNN, and this is hilarious, but how do you report the news in that outfit? How do you actually talk about tragedy wearing that because what could be more tragic than that look he had this morning?”

Fox News continued to dominate in the ratings last week, leading ad-supported basic cable networks in total viewers with an average of 1.39 million viewers and placing second in the key 25-54 demographic, behind ESPN, with 176,000 viewers.
CNN’s liberal media rival MSNBC placed third in total day viewers with 629,000 viewers.
