Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said he won’t wade into the battle over who will lead the Republican National Committee, a race that is already dividing the party.
Ronna McDaniel is vying for another term as the chairwoman of the committee, but she is facing a challenge from Harmeet Dhillon, the former vice chair of the California Republican Party, and Mike Lindell, the chief executive officer of MyPillow.
“I think they’ll be able to figure it out for themselves,” McConnell said to reporters on Monday, declining to endorse McDaniel for another term.

Dhillon is making a last-ditch effort to appeal to various factions of the party and Never Trump Republicans, attempting to make the case that McDaniel’s ties to the former president could prevent her from being neutral in the 2024 primary. McDaniel has publicly rejected that sentiment.
McDaniel’s allies tout her ability to unite various factions within the GOP, recruit new voters into the party, and fundraise.
