Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) sounded off on President Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal on Wednesday.

During a press conference, DeSantis said, “Look, [Biden] said that it was incredibly reckless to have classified [documents].”

“Now,” he began, “you find out he had them stashed behind his Corvette at his house that Hunter [Biden] had access to.”

According to the governor, that is “definitely a security risk in my book.”

“I think it just shows you what some of these folks do. You know, they had all this stuff to say. Now, they’re acting like … it’s not a big deal,” he continued.

“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. You can’t have two different sets of rules based on your political party,” DeSantis concluded.

This month, it was revealed that several batches of classified documents from Biden’s time as vice president to former President Barack Obama were recovered from his office at a think tank, as well as his Wilmington, Delaware, home.

The discoveries prompted Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to investigate. Former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur will investigate the documents and assess whether criminal charges should be levied.

DeSantis, who just won reelection as governor of Florida, is being heavily speculated as a probable 2024 presidential candidate and is further being encouraged by some Republicans. If he were to launch a bid for the White House, he would face off against former President Donald Trump in the Republican primary, who announced his candidacy shortly after the midterm elections.
