Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) prevailed in her race against GOP candidate Tyler Kistner on Tuesday in the heated battle to represent Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District.
The seat, which is just south of the Twin Cities, is rated R+2 by nonpartisan handicapper Cook Political Report, with the district having favored President Joe Biden by 7 points in 2020 under its previous lines.
Craig went after Kistner for his position on abortion following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and touted herself as a centrist willing to work across the aisle. Kistner, a Marine, hit his opponent on issues including inflation and high gas prices, arguing that Republicans are better equipped to handle the economy.
