Jamin Pugh, publicly known by his wresting name, Jay Briscoe, has died at the age of 38 in a reported car crash.

Briscoe, who wrestled alongside his younger brother Mark Briscoe for professional wrestling promotion Ring of Honor, was reportedly killed in a car crash in Delaware at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. It is believed that Jay Briscoe’s daughter was also in the wreck, Ringside News reports, and she was referred to as a “critical pediatric” in the emergency medical services log.

Ringside News says the log shows that two other people were involved in the wreck, one of them dying and the other in critical condition. The wrestling news outlet says it was told Briscoe and his daughter were on their way back from a cheerleading competition at the time.

Tony Khan, owner and CEO of All Elite Wrestling, which bought Ring of Honor last year, made the announcement of Briscoe’s death on Twitter.

“Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away,” Khan wrote. “Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest In Peace Jamin.”

Jay Briscoe was also a successful competitor wrestling apart from his brother, being named Ring of Honor world champion two times. The two brothers were inducted into the Ring of Honor’s inaugural hall of fame class last year.
