Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic jokingly “fired” his coach after successfully scoring a point using the advice of a fan and spectator.

Djokovic played longtime rival Nick Kyrgios on Friday in a charity exhibition match at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park, prior to the start of the Australian Open. The two played in a lighthearted manner, often interacting with the crowd. At one point, the Serbian champion can be seen approaching the stand, asking an enthusiastic fan what his plan of action should be. Djokovic goes on to follow his advice, scoring a quick point against Kyrgios.

Djokovic can then be seen returning to the fan and reaching up to shake his hand.

“It’s done, Goran, you’re fired,” Djokovic can be heard saying to his coach. “Stay till the end of the match, but …”

Goran Ivanisevic can be seen laughing at the playful suggestion.

“Yeah, I lost my job in front of 15,000 people!” he joked afterward, according to the Daily Mail. “I have a flight at 10:45, Emirates, so I am OK, just watch and go.”
