One of the “ISIS Beatles,” who is now serving a life sentence, is listed as no longer in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Alexanda Kotey, 39, who had been nicknamed “Jihadi Ringo,” was previously held in United States Penitentiary, Canaan in Waymart, Pennsylvania.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons clarified to the Washington Examiner that Kotey’s status change on the public website could be for “several reasons,” including “court hearings, medical treatment or for other reasons.” For “safety, security, or privacy reasons,” the bureau said it could not say the specific reason Kotey was not listed as in custody of the BOP.

The daughter of David Haines, who was allegedly kidnapped by Kotey and was later executed by the Islamic State, told British outlet the Daily Record that she has been attempting to get confirmation that Kotey was being held as a prisoner but has received no word from authorities.

“The last we heard he was in a maximum security jail in Pennsylvania, which is renowned for violence, and I was fine with that because I don’t want to hear about him getting any easy time,” Haines said to the outlet. “I don’t think it is right that he can just disappear from the system and the families whose lives were devastated by his actions are left to wonder where he is.”

Kotey received a sentence of life in prison after pleading guilty to being part of a “brutal hostage-taking scheme” against James Foley, Kayla Mueller, Steven Sotloff, and Peter Kassig. All four Americans were later killed in Syria while held by ISIS.
