President Joe Biden briefly addressed Thursday the revelation that classified documents were improperly stored at his home in Delaware, in addition to at his post-vice presidency office in Philadelphia, vowing to comply fully with the Justice Department‘s investigation into the matter.

Biden fielded questions on the topic after delivering remarks on the latest inflation report, just moments after the White House counsel issued a statement confirming that the new batch of documents was discovered in Biden’s garage at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

WHITE HOUSE COUNSEL REVEALS SECOND BATCH OF BIDEN’S DOCUMENTS LOCATED AT HIS WILMINGTON HOME

The president told Fox News’s Peter Doocy that his team uncovered the documents in a locked garage where his Corvette is stored, in addition to one document discovered in an interior room of the home. The search of both the Wilmington home and the president’s Rehoboth Beach home was conducted after classified documents from the Obama-Biden administration were found at Biden’s offices at the Penn Biden Center. The documents discovered in Wilmington, like those at the Penn offices, were immediately turned over to the National Archives and Justice Department. No documents were discovered at the Rehoboth home.

“My Corvette’s in a locked garage, OK?'” Biden told Doocy when asked how he could be so “irresponsible,” an echo of the president’s comments regarding his predecessor’s own mishandling of classified documents after leaving office. “It’s not like they’re sitting on the street.”

“My lawyer has reviewed other places where documents from my time as vice president were stored, and they finished the review last night. They discovered a small number of documents of classified marketing and storage areas and file cabinets in my home in my personal library,” the president continued. “The Department of Justice was immediately notified, and the lawyers arranged for the Department of Justice to take possession of the document. So, you’re going to see — we’re going to see all this unfold.”
