Texas restaurant customer shoots and kills man robbing patrons

A customer in a Texas restaurant shot and killed a man who police said was robbing patrons.
Police responded on Jan. 5 to a call of a shooting at The Ranchito #4. Upon arrival, they discovered a man dressed in black clothing, a black ski mask, and black gloves who had been shot multiple times.
The man, identified as Eric Eugene Washington, 30, was pronounced dead by paramedics, according to the Houston Police Department.
Through witness interviews, investigators determined that the deceased man took money from patrons at the restaurant while pointing a pistol at them.
A patron, described as a white or Hispanic male, produced his own gun and shot the robber multiple times. The shooter returned the money to the other patrons before leaving the scene.

Police questioned the shooter, 46, in the presence of an attorney. After consulting the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined that the shooting case will now go to a grand jury. The shooter has not been charged or arrested.
Police sent out photos on Jan. 6 of the male shooter, whom they wanted to interview about the shooting, and they questioned him on Tuesday.
