Obama must’ve forgotten when Black Panthers intimidated voters and blocked poll watchers in Philly

Former President Barack Obama took to the stage on Saturday night to warn the crowd of the dangers of political rhetoric. While not identifying any person or group in particular, it was evident that he meant Republicans. He brought up the dangers of people standing outside voting booths armed to try to intimidate voters. Yet, Obama was singing a different tune in 2008 when the New Black Panther Party did this very same thing in Philadelphia. They harassed voters, verbally threatened poll watchers trying to enter, and called white voters “crackers” and “white devils.”

“When we start demonizing them, making wild, crazy allegations about them, that creates a dangerous climate,” Obama said at the political rally. “And if elected officials don’t do more to explicitly reject that kind of rhetoric, if they tacitly support it or encourage their supporters to stand outside voting places, armed with guns, dressed in tactical gear, more people can get hurt.”
But when such tactics favor Democrats, it’s apparently “voter intimidation for thee, but not for me.”
On November 4, 2008, two members of the New Black Panther Party stood outside a polling site in Philadelphia, dressed in paramilitary uniforms, carrying a nightstick, intimidating voters and calling them racist slurs. The two Black Panthers “stood shoulder to shoulder in front of the entrance to the polling place and were positioned in such a way that voters had to pass within arm’s length of them to gain access.”
According to testimonies, The Black Panther member with the nightstick was seen “slapping the nightstick in his free hand in a menacing manner and pointing the weapon at people located at the polling site.” And, at one point, they blocked a poll watcher “from gaining access to the polling entrance. Both men were certified poll watchers “serving on behalf of the Democratic Party,” which required training to “what constitutes proper behavior at a polling site.”
Furthermore, evidence showed that at the polling site, they targeted white voters with “a series of racial epithets.” They called white people “white devils,” “white supremacists and crackers,” and other racist, bigoted statements such as “f**k you cracker,” “how you white mother [expletive] gonna like being ruled by a black man?;” and “now you will see what it means to be ruled by the black man, cracker.”
Yet, somehow, this case, after all of this evidence of intimidation and racism, was dropped by the Obama Department of Justice. This demonstrates that Obama’s rhetoric about violence and fear is mere pretend. He doesn’t care about voter intimidation — he just cares about saying whatever will benefit Democrat politicians and their left-wing political agenda.
