Tension on Undisputed after backlash to Skip Bayless’s Damar Hamlin tweet

Tensions were high between hosts Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe at the beginning of FS1‘s Undisputed on Wednesday morning.
Sharpe, who missed the sports debate show on Tuesday, began a monologue discussing how he felt watching Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffer from cardiac arrest during an NFL game Monday night.

The former NFL player then mentioned Bayless’s controversial tweet, wherein Bayless pondered how the NFL could postpone the game despite Hamlin’s medical emergency.
“Skip tweeted someone, and although I disagree with the tweet and hopefully Skip would take it down—” Sharpe said before Bayless interrupted, insisting he would not delete the tweet.
Bayless then began a testy exchange with Sharpe that led to Sharpe angrily saying, “I cannot even get through a monologue without you interrupting.” Bayless then explained he felt blindsided by Sharpe bringing up the tweet, saying he was “under the impression” he would not bring it up.
Sharpe then asked the moderator to come in and move to the next topic, leading to an awkward silence before moderator Jen Hale emphasized that their thoughts and prayers were with Hamlin.
The tense exchange came a day after Bayless did the show solo and apologized for the tweet, which caused much uproar.
“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game — but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant,” Bayless’s Monday night tweet said.

Hamlin has been in the ICU since Monday after he went into cardiac arrest during the first quarter of a game between the Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals. The game was suspended after the medical emergency, and the NFL says it will not be resumed this week.
