President Joe Biden and his diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI, accomplices in Congress have been a cataclysmic disaster in protecting the border. From the horrendous decision to reverse former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies to prioritizing initiatives that favor illegal immigrants over citizens to conflicting and contradictory messaging on the security of the nation’s border, Biden has failed the country. And now, a recent poll shows voters have taken notice.
According to a recent Rasmussen survey, 55% of likely voters “give the government a poor rating” on illegal immigration. Conversely, only 16% believe the government is doing a “good or excellent job.” With the election less than eight months away, these sentiments could be an ominous sign for the current administration’s reelection prospects.
Moreover, consider that 81% of likely voters believe it is important for the government to stop illegal immigration, according to Rasmussen. This included 55% of voters who consider it “very important.” Only 17% of voters believe illegal immigration is not a matter of significant importance for the government. It’s apparent that, especially after the murder of Laken Riley, the public has grown tired of Biden’s open doorway of welcoming illegal immigrants to the country.

What this means going forward remains to be seen. So far, Democrats have avoided saying the name of Riley unless forced to do so. Even so, many people on the Left defy the will of the people. Most recently, 170 Democrats voted against the Laken Riley Act, signaling to the country that left-wing politicians remain out of touch with reality on what people want on illegal immigration.
Democrats will continue to try to impose their will about immigration on the public. They have shown that their political agenda and ideological beliefs are more important than the will of the voter. They have also repeatedly demonstrated they have little interest in border security. Supporting Biden and the Democrats this November will allow the Left’s immigration policies to continue to decimate the country. It’s now up to the people to show them they are wrong in November.
