All of a sudden, left-wing media pundits don’t like special counsel investigations

.

“It’s no longer fun when the rabbit’s holding the gun” is a witty retort to describe a turning of the tables. It’s the perfect expression to describe the reactions of Democrats and left-wing media pundits after the details of special counsel Robert Hur’s investigation were revealed on Thursday. A group of people who brazenly supported investigating former President Donald Trump under the guise of “protecting democracy” went apoplectic when a Democratic president was facing legal inquiries.

Consider recent commentary on MSNBC Thursday night about Hur’s report. The hard-left heft of the network — Ari Melber, Christopher Hayes, Joy Reid, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Rachel Maddow — were none too pleased with Hur’s description of the decline in Biden’s mental faculties. They even tried to delegitimize the report by linking Hur as a “Trump holdover” – a tactic that these very people criticized when Republicans made such inferences about special counsels.

“Especially this line that the president quoted, where the report refers to him as a ‘well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.’ What is the word ‘elderly’ doing there?” O’Donnell said. “And ‘poor memory,’ what is the test of that? Might that be Donald Trump saying ‘I don’t recall’ 400 times under oath in the same deposition? Is that a good test of it?”

O’Donnell’s comments are indicative of several things, the least of which is the Left’s continued deranged obsession with Donald Trump and how they use him to advance logical fallacies when defending President Joe Biden.

“This exhaustive investigation led by a Trump-era holdover prosecutor cleared him of the wrongdoing of classified documents,” Melber said. “No charges, end of story, case closed, good news. But he has a political piece of bad news woven in there, which is what seems like [a] cheap shot, derogatory attacks on him, which I wouldn’t call [a] normal course of investigatory material.”

Multiple pundits echoed these comments on Thursday night. It is nothing more than propagandized, weaponized, hyperbolic hysteria. They don’t want investigations into their people; they don’t believe in a universal application of the law. They are just so consumed with obtaining political power that their sole desire is to see the law weaponized to eliminate political opponents.
