Trayvon Martin wasn’t murdered, and his death had nothing to do with white supremacy

.

Over the last decade, left-wing political pundits, organizations, and media, along with Democratic elected officials, often parrot factually incorrect information about black men killed by white police officers. The most famous, and oft-repeated, example of this is probably the despicable lies told by Democratic politicians surrounding the death of Michael Brown. The most recent egregious falsehood pushed by the Left this week surrounded the death of Trayvon Martin.

Many tried to claim that Martin was murdered or the victim of a racist killing. Neither is true, and it is vile and irresponsible to state such a thing. Earlier this week, the death of Martin was categorized as “an act of a vigilante” by an attorney and a “cold-blooded racial profiling” by a congresswoman. Another congresswoman implied his death was the result of “white supremacy.”

“Trayvon Martin deserved to grow old,” Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Feb. 5. “Instead, he was violently killed and made a martyr. On his 29th birthday and always, we’ll never stop fighting for accountability, an end to white supremacy, and a world where Black men can age with dignity.”

“Today, Trayvon Martin would be celebrating his 29th birthday if he hadn’t been killed by a vigilante,” attorney Benjamin Crump posted on X. “Trayvon’s death sparked a national conversation around the senseless murder of Black men in this country. Sending love to his family today. Happy heavenly birthday Trayvon!”

“Role Model Trayvon Martin’s murder was a classic, bold, exhibitionist case of cold-blooded racial profiling,” Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) posted on X. “His murder by Zimmerman defined racial profiling for the world to see. We will never forget. Happy Heavenly Birthday Trayvon. I love you still!”

All of this is a completely revised and false history of actual events. In fact, it is not history at all but rather works of fiction by biased and agenda-driven elected officials meant to cause hate and division and rile up the emotions of the rabid social justice mob. These claims are not grounded in reality in any way and are complete fabrications that are the epitome of fake news and misinformation.

Yet the investigation by the Obama Department of Justice, led by Attorney General Eric Holder, concluded something different in 2015.

“The Justice Department announced today that the independent federal investigation found insufficient evidence to pursue federal criminal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman for the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida,” the report read. “After a thorough and independent investigation into the facts surrounding the shooting, federal investigators determined that there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt a violation of these statutes. Accordingly, the investigation into this incident has been closed.”

If the events happened the way Crump, Pressley, and Wilson said they did, then George Zimmerman would not have been found not guilty of Martin’s death. Reading the report compared to the hyperbolic hysteria mentioned above by a lawyer and two congressional representatives, one would think these were two different incidents. They were not, but this is what happens when elected officials try to propagandize and weaponize someone’s death for political gain.
