It took a court filing for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to admit that she has a “personal relationship” with a special prosecutor that she appointed to help prosecute former President Donald Trump.
Willis indicted Trump and 18 of his allies last year on racketeering charges for objecting to the results of the 2020 election, in just one of the legal cases plaguing the former president as he mounts a comeback bid for the White House.
On Friday, Willis submitted a court filing in which she admitted that she had a relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, but despite the fact she appointed him to the position, she claims she did not financially benefit from the arrangement.
“District Attorney Willis has no financial conflict of interest that constitutes a legal basis for disqualification,” the filing said. “District Attorney Willis has no personal conflict of interest that justifies her disqualification personally or that of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office; the attacks on Special Prosecutor Wade’s qualifications are factually inaccurate, unsupported, and malicious, in addition to providing no basis whatsoever to dismiss the indictment or disqualify Special Prosecutor Wade.”
Willis’s claim that she did not benefit from appointing Wade, who is in the process of divorcing his wife, is dubious at best, and a downright lie at worst. Wade’s divorce documents have shown that he took Willis on a cruise last year. The most recent filings say that this was paid for with “personal funds,” presumably funds earned through his taxpayer-funded salary.
Trump, of course, was all too gleeful to highlight Willis’s corrupt tryst.
“Fani Willis, the D.A. of Fulton County, just admitted to having a sexual relationship with the Prosecutor she, in consultation with the White House and DOJ, appointed to ‘GET PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP,’” he wrote on Truth Social. “By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!”

To say that Trump has been miraculously blessed by the caliber of person who has attempted to weaponize the law against him would be an understatement. While Fani Willis takes cruises with her lover/coworker, E. Jean Carroll fantasizes about rape on CNN and invites Rachel Maddow to go shopping with her.
To quote the former president, when it comes to the people persecuting him in court, “They’re not sending their best.”
