Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said Tuesday that his wife was admitted to the hospital following a car wreck in Alabama on Monday.
Manchin said the crash happened after Gayle Manchin, the co-chairwoman of the Appalachian Regional Commission, and her colleague Guy Land left the airport in Birmingham for a work event.
The senator said in a press release that his wife, 76, is in stable condition and will stay at UAB Hospital for “a couple of days for precautionary measures.”
