Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is focusing on fitness ahead of the 2024 presidential election by launching a workout program for voters, while concerns about President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trumpās mental and physical fitness lower voter confidence in their abilities to govern.
The AmericaMoves challenge commenced Tuesday to motivate individuals to be active for at least 24 minutes a day during 2024, according to a report.
The program āhas set out to ignite a wellness revolution,ā according to Kennedyās campaign. The independent candidate suggested the challenge in response to voters and political leaders questioning the mental and physical fitness of two of the oldest presidents in U.S. history.
The 70-year-old went viral in June 2023 when a video of him doing shirtless push-ups grabbed the attention of conservatives and fitness influencers. He captioned the video, āGetting in shape for my debates with President Biden!ā
For many, Kennedy, who has been the focus of other public displays of physical fitness, was a stark contrast to Biden.
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley and other GOP leaders called Trumpās mental fitness into question when the 77-year-old mixed up Haley and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosiās (D-CA) name at a rally in New Hampshire last week, with Haley implying he is mentally unfit for the presidency.
āI donāt mind being 80, but Iām 77, thatās a big difference,ā Trump said at a Manchester, New Hampshire, rally on Saturday. āI feel my mind is stronger now than it was 25 years ago.ā
