November border numbers show that if you let them in, more will come

Conveniently released just hours after Congress passed a $1.7 trillion spending bill that only weakened border security, the November Southwest Land Border Encounters number should put to rest any claims from the open-borders Left that use of Title 42 as an immigration enforcement policy actually increases illegal border crossings.
Common sense would inform anyone that if you let more immigrants into the United States instead of turning them away, more will come. But according to the American Immigration Council, turning immigrants away through Title 42 only increased illegal crossings.
THE BIDEN BORDER CRISIS EXPLAINED
Here is its reasoning:
“Over 1.8 million expulsions under Title 42 have been carried out since the pandemic began. However, nearly half of those expulsions were of the same people being apprehended and expelled back to Mexico multiple times. This is because Title 42 has led to a significant increase in repeat crossings at the border. Half of all single adults from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador who have been expelled to Mexico under Title 42 have been apprehended crossing the border again. As a result, Title 42 has significantly increased overall border crossings.”
Now let’s look at the most recent Southwest Border Encounters numbers and compare them to past reports.
In November 2020, when Title 42 was in full effect, the Trump administration arrested 71,929 immigrants crossing the southern border and denied entry to 88% of them through Title 42.
In November 2021, after President Joe Biden created numerous loopholes to Title 42 enforcement, 174,845 immigrants were arrested crossing the southern border, and just 51% of them were denied entry through Title 42.
In November 2022, after Biden created even more loopholes to Title 42 enforcement, 233,740 immigrants were arrested crossing the southern border, and just 29% were denied entry through Title 42.
So, contra everything the open-borders Left tells you, the more often Title 42 is used to deny immigrants entry, the fewer that come. The less Title 42 is used to deny immigrants entry, the more immigrants come.
There is nothing magical about Title 42 enforcement that keeps immigrants from trying to enter the United States illegally. President Donald Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy was actually more effective.
The key is, however, to deny immigrants illegal access to the U.S. Once they enter, they know they can stay forever. That is why the more immigrants we let enter, the more will come.
