37-year-old executive producer of ABC’s This Week dies suddenly

The executive producer of ABC News’s Sunday show This Week, Dax Tejera, died on Dec. 23 at 37 years old.
A memo from ABC to staff revealed that the producer died of a heart attack. This Week is hosted by George Stephanopoulos, Jonathan Karl, and Martha Raddatz.

“It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, Dax Tejera passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night,” wrote ABC News president Kim Godwin. “Our thoughts are with his wife, Veronica, the couple’s two young daughters, and the entire Tejera family.”
Godwin added that more details would be made available in the following days.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica, and two daughters.

Tejera previously worked at MSNBC as a producer and at NBC News as an assignment editor and researcher. In 2017, he joined ABC News as a senior producer for the Washington bureau.
Following the news of the producer’s passing, journalists and members of the media who knew him began expressing their shock at the loss.
