Tyson foods CFO arrested after drunkenly trespassing into college woman’s home

The chief financial officer of Tyson Foods was arrested Sunday after he was found asleep in the home of a young woman who did not know he was there. He was reportedly intoxicated and sleeping in a bed inside the home.
John R. Tyson, 32, was arrested around 2 a.m. after police found him asleep in the woman’s bed. She told police that she believes the door was left unlocked, allowing him to trespass, per KATV which cited a police report. Tyson’s clothes were reportedly on the floor in front of the bed.
“A college-age female was very alarmed that a male who she did not know was inside of her residence uninvited,” according to police. “There was an odor of intoxicants coming from Tyson’s breath and person. Tyson’s movements were sluggish and uncoordinated.”

Tyson was only recently promoted to the CFO role at the beginning of October. He is the great-grandson of the company’s founder.
The meat mogul was slapped with charges of public intoxication and criminal trespassing following the incident and was booked into Washington County Detention Center. He was released Sunday evening, however. He is expected in court for an initial appearance in Fayetteville District Court on Nov. 9 and a second appearance is scheduled for Dec. 1.
Police noted that the woman does not know Tyson and he was not invited to the home. “Because of Tyson’s unlawful presence in a house, where he was not invited, paired with the odor of intoxicants, and his general demeanor when confronted by uniformed officers demonstrated his likelihood to endanger himself, others, property, and cause unreasonable annoyance to people surrounding him due to his level of intoxication, he was placed under arrest for criminal trespass and public intoxication,” the report states.

A spokesperson for Tyson Foods told 40/29 News, “We’re aware of the incident and as this is a personal matter, we have no additional comment.”
According to Tyson Foods’s website, Tyson is a lecturer at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, located in Fayetteville.
