Over one hundred pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside Travis Air Force Base to call for the end of United States military support to Israel in the ongoing war in Gaza.

Fourteen people were arrested for refusing to disperse and booked at Solano County Jail, police confirmed. The protest began Thursday morning at the main gate of the base, located in Solano County, California. The “No Weapons for Genocide” rally was organized by Bay Area Code Pink, a feminist, antiwar organization based in San Francisco.

The Fairfield Police Department said approximately 150 protesters gathered around the three entrances to the base. Police officers and representatives from Travis Air Force Base met with the protesters, but shortly after, demonstrators took to the street and blocked the north and south gates, Fairfield police said in a statement.

Code Pink said in a press release the demonstration was meant “to draw attention to the base’s alleged active involvement in shipping military supplies directly to Israel, thereby contributing to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

Travis Air Force Base is identified as one of the largest airlift and transportation bases for U.S. armed forces. The base is known as the “Gateway to the Pacific,” according to the base’s museum.

On the other side of the country, pro-Palestinian protesters closed down the entrance to the World Trade Center building in New York. A large crowd gathered Thursday afternoon in Zuccotti Park for the “Flood NYC for Palestine” rally to call for a permanent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and condemn U.S. aid to Israel.
