Switzerland’s horrible idea to potentially legalize recreational cocaine

Opponents against the legalization of marijuana and other anti-drug supporters have been saying for years now that movements to legalize any drug would eventually result in pushes to legalize all drugs. Intelligent, logical, and rational people always knew this was the ultimate objective. Now, with reports coming out of Switzerland that its government is considering whether or not to legalize recreational cocaine, those who warned such a day would come get to say, “I told you so,” even if they dread doing it.

Switzerland’s capital city of Bern is considering a “proposed pilot scheme” that would legalize the sale of “small amounts of cocaine” for recreational use. The Parliament in the Swiss capital has supported the idea, according to multiple publications. Still, several other obstacles remain at the moment, including the current national law, which prohibits the use of cocaine in the country. It is believed that Switzerland is the first country to potentially legalize the drug. It’s a policy reversal that left-wing politicians have branded as the alternative to a failed “war on drugs.”

A SUPREME ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY FROM COLORADO COURTS

“The war on drugs has failed, and we have to look at new ideas,” said Eva Chen, a representative from the Alternative Left Party of the Bern council. Chen’s party co-sponsored the cocaine legalization proposal. “Control and legalization can do better than mere repression,” Chen said.

Naturally, a left-wing political party is the catalyst for such legislation. A drug-filled society has been the Left’s desire for quite some time now. Under the guise of freedom and a so-called compassion for addicts, their desire to create a worldwide addicted civilization has been making slow, if not steady, progress. The push to legalize cocaine is the most radical attempt yet. However, it’s laying the groundwork for other countries to follow eventually.

Legalizing drugs is a horrible idea. Consider the disastrous consequences that have stemmed from the worldwide push to legalize marijuana. There’s been a significant increase in marijuana users, which has led to a greater number of people suffering numerous harmful side effects and other health hazards. Additionally, studies have shown multiple severe health issues with regular use of marijuana, including those that harm children. Such dangers were not a regular occurrence when marijuana was illegal.

Incidentally, the state of Oregon’s policy to decriminalize drugs in 2021 was cited as a motivation for Switzerland’s proposal. Yet Oregon’s efforts have led to complete disaster, and there have been calls in the state to reverse course because things have deteriorated so quickly. Addiction, crime, and overdoses have all sharply risen as a result of Oregon’s policies. Yet, for some reason, drug legalization proponents have ignored this development.

Furthermore, Switzerland’s initiative comes as studies have shown an explosion in cocaine use across Europe. The cocaine market in Europe has become a billion-dollar industry fueled by “record levels of drug trafficking.” It has also led to a “dramatic increase in violent crime in northwest Europe,” according to reports. Addiction, crime, and overdoses are what cocaine has brought Europe so far. It only makes sense that a left-wing political organization would push to legalize such a thing.

Countries should be pushing to have fewer addicts in the country, not more. It’s a simple concept that has worked for thousands of years, and all countries should follow it. Contemporary avant-garde drug legalization efforts will do nothing but endanger the health, welfare, and safety of people in countries whose reckless politicians have embraced these ideas.

It’s a horrible idea for Switzerland to be considering legalizing recreational cocaine. Drugs are bad. They always have been and always will be. And legalizing drugs does nothing to improve society.
