Nearly half the country believes Biden has done a ‘poor’ job with crime

Since Biden has been in office, the country has experienced a surge in violent crime. For nearly three years now, people have been inundated with stories of the innocent being victimized by an out-of-control crime problem throughout the nation. It may come as no surprise that voters in this country are scared and angry and want President Joe Biden to take some meaningful action to reduce this wave of crime.
According to a recent survey by Rasmussen Reports, nearly half the country is dissatisfied with how Biden has handled crime. Rasmussen found that 48% of respondents gave the president a “poor rating on crime issues.” It represents an increase in a poll taken earlier this year. Unsurprisingly, the results were primarily divided among political parties. Rasmussen found that 46% of Democrats believed “violent crime in America was getting worse” compared to 76% of Republicans. Interestingly, of voters not affiliated with either party, 61% felt the “crime problem was getting worse.”
A SUPREME ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY FROM COLORADO COURTS
Perhaps the most shocking part of these results was that the respondents were Democrat voters. Violent crime tends to affect the nation’s inner cities the most, which are traditionally heavy Democrat areas. Additionally, since Biden has been in office, two members of Congress have been carjacked. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) had her car robbed in Dec. 2021 after leaving a meeting at a recreational area in Philadelphia known as FDR Park. Later, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) had his car stolen at gunpoint in Washington, D.C., in October 2023. If this doesn’t make Democrats believe crime has worsened, what exactly will?
And while Democrats appear to largely be a different breed regarding crime, the rest of the country seems more pragmatic on crime. It’s one thing for ordinary people in the country to be crime victims. However, when victims of a violent crime wave start to include members of Congress, the perception is going to be that crime is a significant problem plaguing the nation. With radical criminal justice reform policies favored by Biden and Democrats that have seemingly prioritized the welfare of criminals over the safety of individuals, it’s indicative of why many people believe Biden has done a lousy job on crime.
