President Joe Biden boldly tried to sell people on his economic plan as the core of his reelection campaign even though people hate the state of the economy under Biden. As you might have expected, that has backfired to the point that Democrats, including Biden, are sprinting away from the term.

House Democrats have abandoned the term in favor of “People Over Politics,” a clear sign that “Bidenomics” isn’t selling well to voters. That is not a surprise, given that Biden’s approval rating on the economy is sitting at 32% with 67% disapproving. Among independents, Biden’s approval on the economy is at 25%. The White House’s attempt to gaslight people into thinking they are doing better financially than they are and then tying it to a wildly unpopular president, surprisingly, is not very popular.

BIDEN’S WAR ON FAITH AND FAMILY CONTINUES

In fact, it is so unpopular that Biden himself hasn’t mentioned Bidenomics over the last four weeks after using the term 101 times in June. Biden no doubt bought into his own hype in the summer, but branding a failing economy with his name as people continued to struggle to keep up with inflation turned out to be a misstep that even he wants people to forget. The White House still brands his economic speeches as speeches about Bidenomics because the Biden White House is nothing if not stubborn, but even Biden knows that he has botched yet another issue.

As it turns out, everything Biden touches dies. He has overseen a botched withdrawal in Afghanistan and was president as Russia invaded Ukraine and Hamas terrorists slaughtered Israeli civilians (and Americans). He has lost control of the border entirely, leading to even Democratic city leaders saying that he is not doing enough. Biden’s spending policies led to rampant inflation that has made people’s lives worse. Biden, of course, tried to embrace that as a reason he should be reelected, and it predictably backfired.

Republicans should not let him, or voters, forget it. The current economic conditions making it harder for people to get by are the conditions Biden was bragging about all summer. He even tied his name to it, hoping it would be immortalized in the same way as “Reaganomics” was for President Ronald Reagan. Bidenomics should, indeed, be immortalized, along with a 2024 landslide loss for Democrats for ever thinking the plan was a great idea.
