Before Congress adjourns for Christmas, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has released an updated, political version of the classic, “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

His version, called “‘Twas the Week Before Christmas,” was released on his social media Tuesday.

“‘Twas the week before Christmas, and through the Senate and House, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse,” Paul began. “The senators were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of pork danced in their heads.”

To keep it current, Paul talked about the omnibus bill that is currently being debated.

“When what to my wondering eyes should appear? But a 4,000-page omni with endless debt year after year,” he said.

Paul also renamed Santa’s reindeer.

“Now McConnell, now Schumer, now Pelosi and Vixen. On Biden, on Stupid, on Dumber and Blitzen. To debt, to bankruptcy, to free money for all. Now dash away, dash away, more cash for all.”

The senator ended his video with a disclaimer.

“To the kids at home who may be horrified at this naughty Claus, realize that this Claus has absolutely no relation to the magical St. Nick. No, this Claus is not magical. This Claus is that nonfiction Grinch of congressional creation that children should avert their eyes for now, until the inevitable day when they meet this congressional Claus, who dishonestly left the children to pay the bill.”
