Chicago residents interested in receiving some extra money can potentially get $500 if they fill out a program application before New Year’s Eve.

The program, titled Chicago Resiliency Fund 2.0, will give up to 25,500 eligible Chicago residents a one-time payment of $500. The money is intended to support people who had trouble qualifying for federal relief payments in 2020, such as COVID-19 relief funds. The program is currently accepting applications from households that filed 2019 taxes with claimed dependents who are at least 17, according to the Heartland Alliance organization.

For people with one person, the FPL will be $40,770, and for applicants with two people, it will be $54,930, with the amount gradually increasing for every person in a household. For applicants with more than eight people in their household, the amount will be $139,890 plus $4,720 for every person beyond eight.
