A full-scale replica of the Batmobile used in Tim Burton’s Batman films is up for auction next month.

The fully functional supercar is set to headline Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale, Arizona, auction in January, according to a report.

It was built by Casey Putsch and features a fiberglass and aluminum body wrapped around a racing-style frame, the report noted.

Burton’s Batmobile is famous for its helicopter turbine engine, and this model keeps that tradition by using a 1960s-style military Drone Anti-Submarine Helicopter turbine.

“The engine worked perfectly for this application, although it required much custom machining and fabrication to make it work in a Batmobile, including restoration,” Putsch said.

At 365 horsepower, the engine powers the four-speed transmission wheels, and though it is 2,800 pounds, the Batmobile replica can reach 60 mph in four seconds.

Its top speed is 185 mph, according to the report.

Barrett-Jackson is auctioning off the vehicle without a reserve sale price, but it was previously listed for $680,000 on eBay.
