Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is holding a press briefing on the agency’s decision to hold interest rates steady as inflation remains elevated and job gains continue.

Since last year, the Fed has raised rates to a range of 5.25% to 5.5% in an effort to ease inflation, marking the highest level in more than 22 years.

Powell announced the Federal Reserve’s rate decision earlier Wednesday. He is expected to start speaking at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
