Kathy Griffin suspended from Twitter for mocking Elon Musk

Comedian Kathy Griffin was suspended from Twitter for impersonating Elon Musk.
The suspension comes after Griffin changed her Twitter page title to “Elon Musk” in violation of the site’s new policy prohibiting users from impersonating others without using a “parody” tag.

Musk, who took control of the company on Oct. 27, outlined the new policy in a series of tweets.
“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended,” Musk tweeted.
“Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue,” Musk continued in a follow-up tweet, referencing the changes to Twitter’s verification system that include an $8 a month for a blue check mark.
Tweeting as Musk, Griffin urged people to vote for Democrats in the midterm elections to protect abortion access.
“After much spirited discussion the females in my life, I’ve decided that voting blue for their choice is only right. (They’re also sexy females, btw.) #VoteBlueToProtectWomen,” Griffin tweeted as Musk.

As of Sunday night, Griffin was back on Twitter using the account of her late mother.
“Apologize in advance for all the comments you’re gonna have to read about how ugly I am and they’re probably gonna throw you in there too. Oh by the way this is KG. I’m tweeting from my dead mother’s account. She would not mind. #FreeKathy,” Griffin tweeted.
