Where Biden fails, DeSantis delivers

Once again, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has delivered on a promise and upstaged the president in the process, proving that he is the most presidential candidate in the race on either side.

DeSantis vowed to help get Americans back from Israel as other countries began evacuation efforts after Hamas massacred over 1,000 civilians and kicked off a war in the region. President Joe Biden’s idea of an evacuation was to offer to transport Americans to Europe and force them to reimburse the government for the burden. DeSantis, meanwhile, partnered with Project Dynamo to evacuate Americans right to Florida at no cost to them as they flee a warzone.

GIVE THE SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE SPEAKER POWER

This idea was mocked or dismissed by some, including former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who now serves as a domesticated Republican for CNN. And yet the first flight landed over the weekend, bringing 271 Americans, including 91 children, back to the U.S. and out of the danger posed to them by Hamas terrorists and their missiles. As DeSantis said, “There was a void of leadership, so we stepped up and led.”

This is the second example just during this crisis of DeSantis not simply being all talk and bluster. He didn’t just beat Biden (and former President Donald Trump) out of the gate with a statement: DeSantis contrasted Biden freeing up $6 billion for Hamas-backing Iran by proposing to expand Florida’s sanctions against Iran in response to Hamas’s slaughter of civilians, including at least 29 Americans.

Biden’s response to this crisis has been muted, including being absent from the world stage during the initial onslaught and requiring evacuating Americans to pay the government back while leaving them to figure out their own travel home from Europe. Trump has spent his time talking about how smart Hamas terrorists are and, of course, criticizing DeSantis. Meanwhile, DeSantis is using his limited power as governor of Florida to respond better than both the current and former presidents. Imagine what he would be doing if he were leading from the White House.

DeSantis is the only GOP candidate in the field who is actively piling up wins and fulfilling promises. He is more competent and more presidential than both Biden and Trump, and has proven that he has better judgment than both. It is clear that he will follow through in areas where Trump failed and will be prepared in areas where Biden is asleep at the wheel. This is what a president should look like. The choice for Republicans should be a no-brainer.
