Did Mayorkas lie to El Paso Border Patrol agents?

Now we know why President Joe Biden is too frightened to visit the southern border. He’s afraid that a hard-working Border Patrol agent will hold him accountable for his disastrous border security policies.
This Tuesday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas met with Border Patrol agents in El Paso, Texas, where he tried to talk about suicide prevention. But the agents were more interested in talking about the disaster that Biden’s policies have caused at the border.
THE BIDEN BORDER CRISIS EXPLAINED
“When he stated he was here to bring light to suicide prevention and nothing [about] the migrant crisis, our staff couldn’t believe it and made it known to him,” a senior Border Patrol agent in El Paso told the Washington Examiner’s Anna Giaritelli.
“They asked him why he’s saying that the border is secure when we have no agents in the field,” the same agent told Giaritelli. “He had the nerve to respond that he never said the border was secure.”
No audio recording of Mayorkas’s presentation was made, but if the agent is accurately describing Mayorkas’s words, then he definitely lied.
Mayorkas has absolutely said the border was secure. On multiple occasions.
In March 2021, Mayorkas told Fox News, “The border is secure. The border is closed.”
In July 2022, Mayorkas told the Aspen Security Forum, “The border is secure.”
More recently, Mayorkas testified before Congress this November that the border is secure.
As all of the Border Patrol agents who work on the southern border every day very well know, the border is absolutely not secure. Not only are record numbers of illegal immigrants crossing the border and record numbers of illegal immigrants escaping capture, but record numbers of immigrants are dying every day on the southern border.

And all of this chaos is completely the fault of President Joe Biden and his predictably disastrous catch-and-release immigration policy.
No wonder Biden has avoided the southern border so fastidiously.
