On Thursday’s episode of The View, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) daughter Alexandra shared her perspective on who is to blame for the recent assault on her father with a hammer.

“A lot of Republicans feel that it’s not fair to say you can blame this kind of attack on the Republicans,” she told the hosts.

“My sister married a Republican. [A] nice guy, and she says, ‘you can’t blame these things on Republicans.’ I say, ‘Look, everybody who voted for Trump did not storm the Capitol on Jan. 6, but everyone who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 voted for Donald Trump,'” Pelosi explained.

“I’m not saying that my brother-in-law is the kind of person who would storm into somebody’s house and attack them in the middle of the night, but the talk that is out there trickles down to people who are —,” she began.

“— Susceptible,” Joy Behar chimed in, to Pelosi’s agreement.

The House Speaker’s daughter further blamed social media for her father’s attack, stating that it “is destroying the fabric of this country.”

“I have been so depressed since this happened,” she said, adding that it’s been a dark time for her entire family.

The hosts further discussed the recent documentary film Pelosi made about her mother, Pelosi in the House. Sunny Hostin told her that her mother is “such a b*****” in the documentary.

Pelosi described being at the Capitol with her teenage son on Jan. 6 and catching some of the famous candid moments inside the building on that day.

“A lot of phone calls had to be made. The attorney general, the Department of Defense, you know, all of these different calls are being made. I felt like I had a duty to make the historical record of those calls,” she explained.
