President Joe Biden has turned the border into a cataclysmic disaster. Nearly 4 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since January 20, 2021, when Biden was inaugurated as the country’s 46th president.

It was a disturbing trend I witnessed firsthand during my visit there in February 2022. Biden’s incompetence and disastrous border policies have endangered national security, contributed to a record amount of drugs being smuggled into the country, and overwhelmed U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

These are just some of the many reasons why most people in this country want immediate change. And it’s the basis for why most voters want Congress to pass a bill to secure the country’s border. A recent Rasmussen Reports survey found that 74% of voters “would support Congress passing a bill to secure the U.S. border.” This includes a staggering 53% who would “strongly support” such legislation.

Moreover, unlike many of the issues that divide the nation, border security is favored by a majority of people from each political party. As expected, GOP respondents led the way in favoring Congress spending on border security as 81% of Republicans supported Congress taking action to secure the border, according to Rasmussen. Conversely, 65% of Democrats also supported such a measure. Also, 77% of voters who weren’t affiliated with either political party supported Congress “passing a bill to secure the U.S. border,” Rasmussen reported.

After years of the Biden administration’s misinformation, people in the country have realized the president was not being truthful regarding the border. Bogus claims that the “border was secure” by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the absent and ineffective leadership of “Border Czar” Kamala Harris can no longer be ignored. Hopefully, this results in some significant changes and brings accountability to arguably the worst border security presidential administration in the country’s history.

The people have made it clear what they want. Now it’s time for Congress to deliver.
