Who is Canada to lecture the US on human rights?

Canada, of all places, has decided to issue a travel warning for gay and transgender Canadians visiting the United States. At least, the warning is for the ones who haven’t already been euthanized by the Canadian government.

The Canadian government is warning that “some states have enacted laws and policies that may affect 2SLGBTQI+ persons” and offers advice to them if they want to go to states “even if these laws infringe on your human rights.” In case you are wondering why the LGBT alphabet label now has numbers in it, Canada recognizes the made-up “gender” of “two-spirit,” which means that you have “both a masculine and a feminine spirit.”

DESANTIS SHOWCASES ABILITY TO GOVERN WITH HURRICANE RESPONSE

Our brothers, sisters, and two-spirits to the north are clearly a very serious country.

So what are these human rights-infringing laws that Canada is so worried its residents may encounter? The Canadian government listed some of the following: “Banning drag shows and restricting the transgender community from access to gender-affirming care and from participation in sporting events.” Yes, states preventing adult drag shows from performing for children, preventing children from being permanently disfigured with sex change procedures, and preventing men from hurting women in women’s sports are all human rights violations, according to the Canadian government.

This is the same Canadian government that is euthanizing its own citizens for a variety of things, including but not limited to hearing loss and anorexia. In some cases, Canadian hospitals pressure patients into the excessively permissible “assisted dying” system, and the country is barreling toward offering to kill people with mental illnesses in the near future. How soon do you think it will be before Canadian doctors are pushing transgender people who suffer from depression (as many suffering from gender dysphoria do regardless of their transition status) into that permanent “solution”?

If Canada is really worried about “the interests and the safety of every single Canadian,” perhaps it wouldn’t be creating new excuses every year to kill off more of its own citizens. Then again, some U.S. states are preventing children from reading pornographic books in schools, so who has the real human rights issues here?

Canada has no pedestal from which to look down on the U.S. when it comes to human rights, whether the discussion is about free speech or about “safety,” as in this instance. Not being able to watch a boy dominate girls’ basketball is not going to threaten the safety of any Canadian resident, and certainly isn’t more dangerous than an average Canadian hospital has become.
