Oliver Anthony unveils merch line off ‘Rich Men North of Richmond’

Country singer Oliver Anthony has released merchandise in an effort to capitalize on his newfound fame.

Anthony became an overnight social media sensation with his hit song “Rich Men North of Richmond,” which is reportedly generating more than $40,000 a day from streaming.

The items available on Anthony’s website include an array of hats, T-shirts, and bumper stickers. The hats and shirts cost $30-39, while the bumper sticker is $5.

The website asks customers to be patient with receiving their orders because it will take up to two weeks for them to arrive. Additionally, more merchandise is planned to arrive later on.

The song, released on Aug. 8, boasts over 48 million views and over 1.7 million likes as of Wednesday afternoon. The lyrics of the song tell the story of working-class people who feel beaten down and abused by politicians in Washington.

“These rich men north of Richmond / Lord knows they all just want to have total control / Wanna know what you think / Wanna know what you do / And they don’t think you know, but I know that you do,” Anthony sings. “Cause your dollar ain’t s***, and it’s taxed to no end / ‘Cause of rich men north of Richmond.”

The song’s message and story have been praised for resonating with people across the country, including 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who said Anthony has “tapped into something that can unify our nation.”

On TikTok, Anthony has over 2.2 million followers. Recently, he has released a sample of a new song he is working on.
