A GiveSendGo fundraiser was created online to help raise for Wurzelbacher’s cancer treatment, which was updated on Sunday to address Wurzelbacher’s death. Prior to his death, one of Wurzelbacher’s goals was to move his family to his wife’s hometown to be “surrounded by family,” which the family was able to do last week.

“I won’t forget that smile he gave me,” said Katie Wurzelbacher, Joe’s wife. “It brought him peace knowing we were all together by family. And everyone who helped us move also brought Joe that peace.”
