Trump cited a recent poll that put him far ahead of his other opponents in the 2024 Republican primary race. The former president is competing against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and business entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, among others, for the Republican party’s nomination for the 2024 election.
