
WATCH LIVE: House committee holds field hearing on federal response to Hurricane Ian

The House Subcommittee on Government Operations and the Federal Workforce is holding a hearing on the response to Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in southwest Florida in September 2022.
The hearing, titled “Weathering the Storm: Oversight of the Federal Response and Recovery Efforts in Southwestern Florida following Hurricane Ian,” is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT from Lakes Regional Library in Fort Myers, Florida.

Invited witnesses range from local officials in South Florida to officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The field hearing is occurring in the middle of Congress’s August recess.
