Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) was hit with an ethics complaint by a watchdog group for allegedly using government resources for campaign fundraising.
The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust sent a complaint to the House Office of Congressional Ethics regarding Bush after she posted a video clip of a House proceeding in a tweet with a fundraising link.

“Rep. Bush disrupted official House proceedings with outrageous and unprofessional behavior and then campaigned and fundraised off of it. Moreover, to do so she used official House government resources, namely video footage of official House floor proceedings,” the complaint said.
Bush interrupted Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) during remarks on the House floor in July to say, “Your bills are racist.” She then quote-tweeted a video of the incident adding more grievances with the GOP’s bills.
“I didn’t get to finish. Their bills are also sexist, patriarchal, xenophobic, classist, homophobic, and transphobic,” Bush said.
In a reply to the tweet, Bush included a fundraising link to her House campaign.
FACT says the violation stems from House members not being allowed to use House proceedings for campaign or political purposes.
“The legal violation in this case is obvious and there are no facts that can excuse it—Bush used official House proceedings and resources for political purposes. Video of official house floor proceedings is an official resource, and both using it for political purposes and posting it on a campaign social media account are violations of the ethics rules,” the complaint said

“It is irrelevant that Bush obtained this video from CSPAN because a Member cannot use official footage even if it is obtained or reposted from another entity. The fact that Bush uses this video on her campaign social media account and directly fundraises off of it shows a complete disrespect for the law,” the complaint continued.
Bush has had other ethics complaints lodged at her, including for allegedly violating federal law by paying her husband with campaign funds.
