Businessman and WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon was served a federal grand jury subpoena Wednesday following the execution of a July search warrant.

The subpoena is the latest action related to an investigation into the professional wrestling boss stemming from accusations that he has bought off women alleging sexual misconduct against him, according to a report.

On July 21, he “went on medical leave after undergoing major spinal surgery,” the WWE said in its quarterly SEC report before adding he will “remain on medical leave until further notice but will remain Executive Chairman.”

No charges have been filed against McMahon, according to the WWE, but the subpoena and search warrant follow years of a purported federal investigation into McMahon for allegedly paying off women, the report noted.

The WWE “has received voluntary and compulsory legal demands for documents, including from federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies, concerning the investigation and related subject matters,” according to the professional wrestling organization.

The announcement of the actions taken against McMahon came a day after the indictment of former President Donald Trump by a Washington, D.C., federal grand jury.

At least $5.3 million and $7.1 million, respectively, were incurred by the WWE related to another investigation into McMahon, the WWE said, and McMahon has pledged to reimburse the company for “all reasonable costs incurred.”

“To date, Mr. McMahon has paid approximately $17.4 million to reimburse the Company for costs that have been incurred and paid by the Company,” the WWE filing stated.

“As previously disclosed, the Special Committee investigation was completed during the fourth quarter of 2022. However, related government investigations remain ongoing.”
