Justin Trudeau divorce: Canadian prime minister announces split from wife of 18 years

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie are separating and have signed a legal agreement to that effect, the prime minister said in a statement on social media Wednesday.
The couple had been married for 18 years. They were married in 2005 and have three children.

“They have worked to ensure that all legal and ethical steps with regards to their decision to separate have been taken, and will continue to do so moving forward,” the couple said in a statement.
