Special counsel Jack Smith has brought a new indictment against former President Donald Trump regarding efforts to subvert the 2020 election results and block the transition of power.
The federal grand jury was seen heading into court earlier Tuesday, foreshadowing a possible indictment. The grand jury has been gathering typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the E. Barrett Prettyman United States Courthouse in Washington.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to announce that he expected an indictment before the news was announced.
