House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) reacted to Devon Archer’s testimony on Monday, saying it was a “huge step towards implicating Joe Biden” in violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
Archer testified before the House Oversight staff on Monday that the Biden family, specifically then-Vice President Joe Biden, was key to Burisma staying afloat. During his testimony, Archer also noted that Biden once attended dinners with Hunter Biden’s business partners as well as spoke to them over the phone.

“We have evidence in this sworn testimony that from a fellow Burisma board member that they were pressuring Hunter to immediately get on the phone with his father,” Comer told Hannity. “The evidence continues to mount, and today we saw Joe Biden has lied to the American people. He knew exactly who his son was getting those millions and millions of dollars of wires from, and he spoke to them, and spoke to them often.”
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) also joined Hannity and rejected Democrats’ claim that any conversation between Joe Biden and Hunter Biden was “an illusion.” He added that Archer’s testimony provided “a whole new light to what happened last week” when Hunter’s plea deal fell apart.
“The deal was designed to keep Burisma out of it. Remember, they weren’t going to charge for 2014-2015 tax years,” Jordan said. “They weren’t going to do the felony charges there because that’s Burisma money.”
Comer added that Archer testified those involved with Burisma “were influence peddling.”
“We heard today from someone on the inside: It was influence peddling. They sold Joe Biden. That’s what the business was. And Joe Biden, himself, talked to every single person that has wired money to the Bidens.”
“We know Hunter Biden has violated [the FARA] — even the judge in Delaware last week cited that as one reason why she rejected the ’sweetheart’ plea deal, but what this did today, in my opinion, is open the door: Did Joe Biden violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act?”
“He was an active participant in at least one deal we know of with the Burisma deal,” Comer said of Joe Biden. “He was actively participating and doing a benefit to this foreign agent for this foreign country and he was withholding American tax dollars in the form of foreign aid for that. This is very serious.”

Comer added that Archer’s testimony provided “a huge step towards implicating Joe Biden in many of these crimes,” and he vowed to continue pressing forward in his investigation.
Hunter Biden recently pleaded not guilty to federal charges, despite having an original plea deal with the DOJ. He was set to plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors to avoid a felony gun charge, but the judge overseeing the plea deal raised concerns that ultimately led to a delay in the case.
