‘Loving his son’ doesn’t mean enabling a deadbeat father’s dereliction of duty

Nearly five years after her birth, young Navy Joan was finally recognized by her paternal grandfather, the leader of the free world, in a 5 p.m.-on-a-Friday news dump to a trashy tabloid.

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” President Joe Biden told People. An anonymous source told the rag, “As grandparents, the Bidens are following Hunter’s lead.”

HUNTER BIDEN INVESTIGATION: DOJ BACKS DEVON ARCHER TESTIFYING, REJECTS OBSTRUCTION CLAIMS

From Hunter Biden’s drug addiction to his adultery, from his international influence-peddling to his refusal to take ownership of his parental duty toward his much-maligned daughter, the Democrats have shamelessly defended the president’s refusal to take charge with the hackneyed assertion: Republicans are attacking “a father for loving his son.”

In the case of the younger Biden, trading the Biden family name for cash from America’s adversaries, Republicans are quite literally investigating the Biden family for potentially criminal activity and undoubted corruption. But across all of these activities, we do not have evidence of a patriarch loving his son. We have a feeble father enabling his dishonorable offspring’s worst abuses of his family.

Hunter Biden only believed he could get away with his horrific treatment of Navy Joan because of how his father gave him a pass with his abuse of his first family. Hunter Biden repeatedly cheated on his first wife, Kathleen Buhle, and when the press finally published the fact that he left Kathleen to seduce his sister-in-law, the wife of his late brother Beau Biden, Joe Biden decided to side with his serial adulterer of a son, not the mother of his three grandchildren who had loyally supported the Obama-Biden administration.

“We are all lucky that Hunter and Hallie found each other as they were putting their lives together again after such sadness,” the president told the New York Post. “They have mine and Jill’s full and complete support and we are happy for them.”

Now tell me, if you are as devout a Catholic as Joe Biden claims to be, what would really loving your son (and his immortal soul) look like? Would it mean reminding Hunter Biden that he is in violation of Leviticus and the Ten Commandments by not just cheating on a faithful wife, but also with his brother’s wife? Or would it mean encouraging and applauding Hunter Biden’s sins against his wife, children, and God?

Joe Biden decided to do the latter, giving his son the green light, and naturally, the younger Biden graduated to even worse behavior. While abusing drugs and alcohol, he impregnated a student who was moonlighting as a stripper to pay for university and then abandoned her, depriving her of health insurance. Lunden Alexis Roberts then had to drag Hunter Biden to court and get a positive paternity test to prove he was indeed the father of Navy Joan. Hunter Biden would repay Roberts by blasting her as “hardly the dating type” in his 2021 memoir, refusing to pay child support, and challenging Navy Joan’s right in court to use the Biden last name. (As evidenced by the younger Biden’s entire career of raking in millions off that moniker, it’s obvious why he views a bastard daughter of an Arkansas stripper ineligible to be a Biden — the name itself is too valuable.)

It took five years of scandals, laptop findings, congressional investigations, and criminal referrals for Hunter Biden to face accountability, but not from his father. Clearly the internal polling on Hunter Biden’s neglect of Navy Joan became bad enough that the president was forced to acknowledge his granddaughter for political expedience. But if public pressure has forced the Biden family to pivot even an inch away from the terrible sins inflicted upon that little girl, that’s a lesson worth delivering. Next time, it really ought to come from Joe Biden if he loves his son as much as he says he does.
